Orbs are believed by some parapsychologists and paranormal investigators to be evidence of spirit activity. In theory, they are the essence of a ghost or spirit that the human eyes cannot see, but can be picked up on cameras and camcorders. Using orbs as evidence has fallen out of style lately, as many skeptics point out that these anomalies can be picked up almost anywhere at any time, but especially at night. But, why is that? Skeptics believe orbs are moisture, bugs or dust in the air that is caught in the flash of a camera; these are called naturalistic orbs.
Ectoplasm used to refer to a substance mediums secreted from various parts of their bodies, such as nose, mouth, ears and even navel that were allegedly a substance that a spirit was trying to build to take form. Today, the term refers to a fog or mist that appears on film or video that cannot be explained away as naturally occurring.
A vortex is perceived as a rip or tear in reality that any spirit or ghost can pass through. Skeptics are right to believe that most instances of this anomaly is something in front of the camera lens, such as a hair, a camera strap or a spider web.
If a digital camera has a low light setting, you may come out with a picture where it looks like there is another person or body part next to someone, or body parts will be missing. This happens when a camera is on this setting and moves while the picture is being taken, similar to camera shake.
