In his book Diggin' Up Bones, author Charles Edwin Price explains that the middle school in Elizabethton, is haunted by a teacher who was long ago killed in a car accident. Morbid children will say she floats through the halls at nights turning off all lights that have been left on. One benevolent influence she has, however, is the sudden feeling of calm she provides to nervous students who are in the middle of taking tests.
