Located on Dark Hollow Road in Roan Mountain, this cemetery is so old that most tombstones are unmarked.  The story is, that the neighborhood lover to all the men, named Delinda had a reputation and slept with most of the married men in town.  After Delinda fell ill, and most of the men did as well, the men's wives finally fed up with Delinda took it upon themselves to put a stop to Delinda.  After marching toward her home and not finding her, they returned to their homes.  Delinda was never seen again.  That same day, Delinda's favorite lover, Jankins accidentally shot himself.  Delinda was not present for his funeral.  When the casket was carried to the cemetery , the men thought it was to heavy for just Jankins.  Rumor has it, that Delinda loved Jankins so much, that she climbed in the coffin with Jankins and was buried with him.  They say, that if you drive by this cemetery at night, sometimes you can feel a bump on your car as if someone has jumped onto the back of your car.  Some even say that Delinda was a witch. Some also believe that since this cemetery is so close to the Teabury Road grave, where a witch is assumably buried, that Delinda is not buried at Dark Hollow Cemetery at all. 1, 2, 3
