Near the Big Meadow Campground in Townsend, Tennessee, there is a cave that is supposed to be haunted, called Cedar Creek Cave after the creek that runs near it. Legend has it that Old Man Joe was a cranky old hermit that had a squirrel for a pet and died more than a decade ago. Some say that a mile into the cave, he can be heard screaming, “Get out of my cave!” 1
