Rogersville Review

In their book Haunts, Haints and Other Mysterious Tales of Hawkins County, co-authors Mike Williams and Joel Spears write that The Rogersville Review newspaper office is said to be haunted by longtime publisher Eleanor Sheets. The President of the International Printing Pressmen’s Union of North America, Major George L. Berry, hired her and her husband J. Fred in 1932.  In 1947, they bought the paper from the union president but when Fred passed away in 1958, she was left to run the paper on her own. Perhaps the sheer force of this woman’s personality has assured her presence has been felt after her death in 1985.
