Netherland Inn

Former president Andrew Jackson seems to be one of the most well travelled men in American history. He is said to haunt a number of locations, including Netherland Inn in Kingsport, where he was said to frequent.
A Kingsport News article from 06/03/1966 entitled "Wanted: Money to Restore One Old Inn (with Ghost)" describes the odd habit of the ghost:

It is a perfect setting for the ghost of Netherland Inn, affectionately called “Old Andy” by present residents.
For some reason “Old Andy” prefers to do his wandering at [2:00 AM]. He announces his arrival with a loud cracking
noise – always exactly at [2:00 AM]. The [owners] can offer no explanation. Perhaps it’s the ghost of [former president Andrew]
Jackson, returning to the inn he loved to mourn the fact that he shot Charles Dickenson in a duel. Or maybe it’s Dickenson
looking for Jackson where could have been found more than a century ago. (Kingsport News)

Noble M. Edward’s documents the dual between the two men in his book History of Caroline County, Maryland: from Its Beginning ; Material Largely Contributed by the Teachers and Children of the County. The duel took place on 05/30/1806 at Red River at Harrison's Mills, Kentucky, probably because Dickenson had made some “unseemly remarks” about Jackson’s wife. Jackson shot and killed Dickenson.
Since visitors are no longer allowed in Netherland Inn after dark, it is impossible to say if the ghost of Andrew Jackson still makes nightly appearances.
