The former Sullivan County News building in Blountville on Highway 126 was supposed to be haunted by a ghost nicknamed “George.” The phenomenon began in the 1940s, when doors began to open and close on their own. One editor even claimed to have seen George standing gin a doorway, wearing a gray suit. It scared him so bad, he actually shot at the ghost. 1, 2, 3
