Boone Lake

In his 1995 book Haunted Tennessee, author Charles Edwin Price writes that there is a phantom speedboat occasionally heard on Boone Lake and locals attribute it to a speedboat accident that happened years ago:

In Tennessee there is a “ghost ship” of sorts on Boone Lake in Washington County. A speedboat was wrecked there several
years ago when it collided with another boat travelling without running lights. One man was killed. And now people along the
waterfront claim the noise from the same kind of boar whizzes by them on dark nights. Of course, no craft of any kind is in sight
at the time. (Price, p. 33)
