Masters Knob

Beyond the reservoir off of Hawthorne Drive in Johnson City is Masters Knob, a thickly wooded area where a mysterious light is sometime seen breaking through the trees. In his book Haints, Witches, and Boogers: Tales from Upper East Tennessee, Charles Edwin Price writes that this is the lamplight from a reclusive Civil War veteran who was found frozen on early winter morning in 1880.
