Jonesborough Cemetery

In a Johnson City Press article from 10/29/2004 titled "Retired Professor Shares Local Ghost Stories" staff writer Ben Ingram proposes that the spirit of Methodist minister William Gannaway Brownlow, a Union supporter during the Civil War, is seen in the cemetery at night. Curiously, though, he is not even buried in Jonesborough; he is buried in Knoxville, Tennessee.
