White’s Mill

In a News-Sentinel article from 02/25/1994 titled "This Land Is Haunted by Ghosts of History”, Don Williams proposes that Historic White’s Mill is haunted. He documents that White’s Mill was built in the late 1700s by Col. James White. It is one of the oldest working mills in Northeast Tennessee. Some nights the old wheel turns and the millstone grinds invisible grain. Perhaps it is the spirit of a former miller, still providing for the community.
