The Columbia Avenue underpass off of Martin Luther King Boulevard and after Janie Hammitt Drive in Bristol, Virginia is said to be haunted by a terrifying specter.
In his book Ghosts of Bristol: Haunting Tales from the Twin Cities, author V. N. “Bud” Phillips describes this terrifying sight as a homeless ghost carrying his head and begging for food. He purposes that the horrifying spirit was a hobo that fell under a train as he tried to jump aboard as it pulled off of the trestle.
