The reason the bridge was built over West Mary Street in Bristol, Virginia is because, local legend has it, and a woman carrying her infant child was struck while crossing the railroad tracks. Some people report that she still haunts the train tracks under the bridge, and the ghost of her and her tiny child can still be seen some nights. 1
